A Year With Madison And Jaryl

366 Days. 366 Activities.

Who’s Walking Over My Bridge??

Today I decided it was time to take Jaryl to the Fremont Troll. So we trekked down to Fremont and explored! we used the Fremont Center of The Universe sign to find our way around.

We found many amazing places including Ophelia’s Books! A great used book store with a beautiful spiral staircase and plenty of scripts and monologue books. (We each picked out a new book).

On our way to find the Fremont Troll we were in search of “Rapunzel”. I read in a Washington Tourist book that she was on the Fremont bridge. But I was disappointed to find that she was just a neon light.

After This……

That’s right a RECORD store.

And This…

And This…

We  finally were on our way …..To the Troll.

Unfortunately there was this……

We tried to go past it…… but we could not.

No Troll for Jaryl….Thanks alot construction. The worst part is I had just told some tourist to go see the troll…. SORRY random guy at the Northgate Mall. I had no idea.
Another Day…..Another Day..

Surprise!!

Jaryl has always been TERRIBLE at surprises. During our past 5 years together it has been an endless chain of early Birthdays, Christmas presents, and even our engagement turned from an elaborate plan to a casual at home proposal a week early! And quite frankly I think Jaryl has rubbed off on me. I used to be patient. I used to be a stickler for holiday gifts actually ON holidays. “Do you want to have Christmas now?” “Want to see your present?” or his ultimate favorite question that he thinks will trip me up, but never has “What did you get Jaryl?”  Now it is not unusual for Christmas to be on December 12th, our birthdays to be on the 1st of July or any other special surprises to be secret for oh….ONE minute.

And Valentine’s day…. My Favorite holiday! The girl in love with pink and candy and making her friends happy. I can’t remember not giving out valentines. It was always my favorite day in school and I continued the tradition throughout college. I would always throw parties for my single friends. Or to paint a picture my friend Jordan always says

“Valentine’s day is the one day where Madison blends in with everyone else.”
And so let me tell you, the fact that Jaryl and I have never had a Valentine’s day together (he is always in a show) has always made me a little sad. And this year was no different. I even put a status on Facebook looking for a date (girls or guys still encouraged to apply). So today when I went out to my car and there was a rose petal on the ground I thought nothing of it. Then I saw a little smiley heart on the window….Then I opened the door and an explosion of petals, a single pink rose, a very cute stuffed dog and heart decals on the steering wheel jumped out at me! I could not believe the man with no secrets and surprises actually surprised me! What a great early valentine’s day and a great way to end work! I love you Jaryl!
